DePauw Student Ministry
A Home Away from Home
It’s not easy to live a moral, ethical life on a college campus. Greencastle Christian Church (GCC) can teach you how the Bible gives practical insights on real life issues that you struggle with everyday. At GCC you can discover that real life from God’s perspective will give you meaning and hope. We offer three ministries to assist students in fostering their spiritual and moral development.
Host Family Ministry
This ministry matches students with GCC families to give you a home away from home during the academic year. The families provide you with a place to rest, are encouraging, and best of all, often provide you with homemade meals! You will be able to share with and get to know a local GCC family. If you have further questions or are interested in joining the Host Family Ministry, please contact Earl and Gwen Macam at gtmacam@depauw.edu.
Monthly Pitch-in Dinner Ministry
Once a month, the Host Families, their DePauw Students and other GCC members participate in a pitch-in dinner immediately following our 10:30 am worship service. These dates are set at the beginning of the semester and are announced in the church bulletin. They typically begin in September and end in May. You need not worry about a Sunday dinner, so come worship and fellowship with us – let us feed you! If you have further questions, contact Earl and Gwen Macam at gtmacam@depauw.edu.
We'd like to thank all the students and families who have supported and helped make this ministry a success. We look forward to the fall of 2008.
The DePauw Van Ministry
We realize that some students do not have cars and may be unable get to our church campus on Sunday mornings. We will provide transportation to you via a church van, which will pick you up at 10:15 am every Sunday morning. Pick-up and drop-off locations are the North Quad (Hanna & Locust St.) and in front of Hogate Hall in the South Quad area. The van ministry also provides return transportation to DePauw following the 10:30 am service. If you have further questions, please contact Wes Wilson at wwwilson@depauw.edu.
